James Redford, the son of Hollywood legend Robert Redford, has died.
The filmmaker and activist, who was 58, died from most cancers on Friday (10.16.20), his spouse Kyle confirmed.
The 84-year-old retired actor and director has requested for privateness at this tough time.
Cindi Berger, Redford’s publicist, stated: “The grief is immeasurable with the loss of a kid. Jamie was a loving son, husband and father.
“His legacy lives on by his kids, artwork, filmmaking and devoted ardour to conservation and the atmosphere.
“Robert Redford is mourning along with his household throughout this tough time and asks for privateness.”
Kyle – who James was married to for 32 years and had son Dylan and daughter Lena with – wrote on Twitter: “Jamie died at this time. We’re heartbroken. He lived a ravishing, impactful life & was cherished by many. He might be deeply missed. As his spouse of 32 yrs, I’m most grateful for the 2 spectacular kids we raised collectively. I don’t know what we’d’ve executed w/o them over the previous 2yrs. (sic)”
His widow informed the Salt Lake Tribune that ‘The Huge Image: Rethinking Dyslexia’ helmer was identified with most cancers final November when he was ready for a liver transplant.
His liver illness had returned two years in the past and he died from bile-duct most cancers in his liver.
The Sundance Institute, a nonprofit group co-founded by James and his father in 2005, paid a touching tribute to the documentary maker.
They stated: “Jamie was a deeply intuitive and type collaborator. Our group of artists and colleagues grieves this loss and sends condolences to the Redford household; Jamie’s heat, ardour and generosity of spirit will proceed to encourage us.”
James was the ‘Out of Africa’ star’s third little one with ex-wife Lola Van Wagenen.
Redford tragically misplaced his son Scott to sudden toddler dying syndrome two months after his start in 1959.
The Oscar-winner and first spouse Lola – who he divorced in 1985 – have daughters Shauna, 59, and Amy, 49.
