NEW YORK (AP) — Writer-commentator Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended by the New Yorker and is stepping away from his job as CNN’s senior authorized analyst pending what the cable community is looking a “private matter.”
Vice reported earlier Monday that Toobin had uncovered himself throughout a Zoom assembly with staffers of the New Yorker and WNYC radio. In an announcement Monday afternoon, the New Yorker mentioned Toobin had been “suspended whereas we examine the matter.” It declined additional remark. A CNN spokesperson mentioned in an announcement that “Jeff Toobin has requested for a while off whereas he offers with a private subject, which we now have granted.”
The 60-year-old Toobin has been a New Yorker author for greater than 20 years and joined CNN in 2002. He’s the writer of a number of books, most just lately “True Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Investigation of Donald Trump,” printed in August.
